About Godly Girlhood

The History:

It was April 2006.  My birthday had been a delightful one.  I had a wonderful time with my family and they had gifted me with several beautiful presents.  Among them was a brand new book entitled "So Much More" written by Anna Sofia and Elizabeth Botkin. Here is an adapted writing of the inside of the cover:

This book is not another Christian-teenage-girl “survival guide.” So Much More shows how Christian girls can wage war with the world and win. The Botkin sisters focus on how young women can rise above their God-hating culture and change it for the better.

Today, countless young ladies face difficult problems and challenging questions. While many long for godly purpose in their lives, their bewilderment mounts when they observe broken homes, distant fathers, overwhelmed mothers, degrading college courses, and a lack of spiritual guidance — both at home and at church. As hope for security and stability fades, it is no wonder many young ladies feel orphaned, unprotected, and without hope for their futures.

Within the pages of this book, discover practical, biblical solutions for the young woman who wants to do so much more than just “survive” in a savagely feministic, anti-Christian culture. Find the answers a girl is not likely to get from her church, her peers, or her culture.

It looked very intriguing and soon I was engrossed in reading it.

One day, sitting outside on a fallen log, I was reading intently my new-found treasure when a sudden idea struck me:  Wouldn't it be wonderful to start a website for young ladies who are struggling on living godly lives in a un-godly world? From that moment on, I began to piece together ideas of creating a website as an outreach to young women who were traveling down the same path I was trodding.  After several converstations with my parents, the website Godly Girlhood was up and running.  I was 14 years old and lacking experience in editing, most of my early articles were desiring a good correcting.  But I was not discouraged.  I continued writing on subjects such as modesty, getting along with siblings and obeying parents, purity, and homemaking.  I started expanding more and more, adding a store with resources I that enjoyed and/or reccomended, creating more pages with more content, more images, etc.  The knowledge of computers and the internet I've gained while being webhostess has certainly been useful!

The goal of Godly Girlhood is to encourage young women to live the Word through everything they do, say, or wear.  If you weren't encouraged when you visited Godly Girlhood, then my time has been wasted and so has yours!

My Beliefs:

The Bible applies to everyday life; I strive to make that fact clear on my website.  I and my family believe that the Scriptures are the inherent Word of God and that there is one God-the Triune God: the Father (the Creator); the Son (the Redeemer) who proceeds from the Father, yet is still one with the Father; and the Holy Spirit (the Sanctifier) who proceeds from the Father and the Son, and who is also one with the Father and the Son.

Jesus Christ, the Father's only begotten, most precious, holy Son, was sent for me to be the atoning sacrifice for all my sins, big and small.  He lived 33 years in alien territory, our world, healing the sick, preaching the kingdom of heaven, and setting the example of how to live.  Jesus died on a cross; crucified, becoming sin for us.  God poured out all of His wrath originally meant for us, for me, on His perfect blameless Son and forsook Him because of the sin Jesus took upon Himself.  He was dead and buried in a tomb, but on the morning of the third day He had been dead, Jesus rose triumphantly out of the grave!  Hallelujah!  God had accepted the sacrifice and Jesus procurred forgiveness and eternal life for everyone, for me. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God the Father.

Jesus will be coming back when God says it is time to gather all of His children to Himself to live eternally in heaven while the earth will be destroyed.  Whoever does no believe and accept the gift of eternal life will be condemned to hell.  But hallelujah!  I'm saved by Jesus' blood!  This I do believe.

From the Home Page

Godly Girlhood was created for young women like you in mind.  The verses to remember as you browse through this website are Titus 2:4-5.

"Then they can train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one may malign the word of God."

Yes, I (Miss Taylor, the web hostess) may talk about different subjects on my blog, but this website was created with this verse as the foundation.  Another verse to consider as you travel through Godly Girlhood is Romans 12:2a.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

My main point throughout this website is for you to remain unconformed to this world.  I encourage you: live like Christ would and live to glorify God in all you do and say.  (Colossians 3:17)
